During this session, LaShuan Bethea, executive director of the National Center for Assisted Living, will discuss “The State of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care.”

Bethea is a registered nurse and attorney with 25 years of experience in health care. The chair of the Genesis Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and first vice president of the Maryland Nurses Association, Division 2, Bethea is actively involved in advocating for laws and regulations that improve patient care outcomes within long-term care. Her work has focused on issues surrounding Medicare and Medicaid, telemedicine, workforce and labor challenges, the regulatory environment, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in long- term care.
